Show Heart Ailment Takes Life of Charles Henry Heap Funeral services for Charles Henry Heap, 74, resident of Parowan Par-owan for many years, were held on Monday at 2 p. m. in the Third Ward chapel with Grayson Gray-son O. Gurr of that ward's bishopric bish-opric conducting the services. Mr. Heap died Thursday in the Iron County hospital after a brief illness ill-ness from a heart ailment. He was stricken only a day or two before and was taken immediately immediate-ly to the hospital. Speakers at the services were Jess V. Guymon, Karl O. Mitchell, Mitch-ell, Gam Sherratt and R. Taylor Miller with remarks by Bishop Howard Adams. Mrs. Ila Bauer of Cedar City gave a brief history of the life of the deceased. The opening and closing prayers pray-ers were offered by Mr. Heap's grandsons, Floyd Roberts and Sheldon Roberts, brothers, of Beaver, and the grave was dedicated dedi-cated by Joseph E. Ward. Musical numbers on the program pro-gram were the opening song, "Sometime We'll Understand," by a double mixed quartet consisting consist-ing of Mrs. Ramona Stubbs, Mrs. Alice Mitchell, Mrs. Eerta Burton, Bur-ton, Mrs. Alice Haycock, Karl Mitchell, Ray Lyman, J. Harold' Mitchell and Watson Adams, with Mrs. Mary Lyman at the piano; a vocal solo "Face to Face" by E. Ray Lyman, and the closing song "Coin' Home," by a male quartet consisting of Mr. Lyman. Karl Mitchell, Harold Mitchell and Ivan Decker. Mr. Heap was born in Parowan. Paro-wan. Aug. 28, 1880, a son of George and Louisa Hollingshead Heap. He married Harriet Allen on Sept. 20, 1905 in Victor, Idaho and the marriage was later solemnized sol-emnized in the St. George L D S temple. Surviving are his widow. Paro wan; two sons, Allen, Parowan. and Ralph, Las Vegas, Nev; four daughters. Mrs. Martha Kirkpat-rick Kirkpat-rick and Mrs. Theodean Loosli, Parowan; Mrs. Wanda Roberts, Beaver, and Mrs. Alice Marie Lunt, Cedar City. Also surviving are two brothers, Vernon Heap, Parowan, and J. LeRoy Heap, Cedar Ce-dar City; a sister, Mrs. Hettie Johnson Smith, Salt Lake City; 19 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. |
