Show Volunteers Answer County June Selective Service Call The Iron County Selective Service Ser-vice Board has received a call for two men to report for induction into military service for the month nl June, and six men to report re-port for pre induction physical examinations. They must report on June 1 and will fill the county coun-ty quota for the month. Two men, one from Cedar City and one from I'arowan, have volunteered vol-unteered for induction and will fill the quota for inductees. The two are attending the College of Southern Utah, and have volunteered volun-teered to leave with the first group of inductees after the close of school. The two volunteers are Henry Fmil Vandenberghe, Cedar City, and Kenneth Mario Topham, Pa rowan. An order has been issued by the selective service administrators administra-tors to re-examine all registrants who have previously been ex- j amined and placed in 4-F, and regulations provide that a portion por-tion of the quota from each county coun-ty for lire-induction physicals may be selected from the "reexamine" "re-examine" group. An increase in the number of men to be called for examination has been made in order that plenty of men will be kept available for induction as they are needed. It is naturally nat-urally expected that only a small per cent of the men previously classified as 4-F will qualify on re-examination. However, many of these received the 4-F classification classi-fication on correctable ailments, and at least some of them should be able to pass military physical physi-cal requirements now. Since the Iron County board has a sizeable "available" list of examined men a portion of the June quota of men to be examined exam-ined will come from the 4-F group. |
