Show Regional Music Festival Plans Under Way Committees have been named and preparations are under way for the annual Region Six Music Festival which will be held in Parowan on Saturday, May 7, according ac-cording to word given out by the local high school which is to be host school for this year's event. LeXoir Asay, Parowan High School music instructor , is in charge of arrangments. The Music Festival, which is the biggest gathering of students of the entirj year, will feature bands, orchestras, boys' and girls' choruses and mixed choruses cho-ruses from all high schools and junior high schools of Region Six. Participants will include the musical organizations from Delta, Del-ta, Millard, Beaver, Milford, Parowan. Paro-wan. . Cedar. Enterprise, Dixie, Hurricane, Valley and Kanab high schools. We understand also that A. B. Larson, wety known band director of the Cedar City High School in former years, is bringing his Las Vegas High School band here for this event. Contest work is slated to begin I early in the morning and these events will continue until mid-afternoon mid-afternoon at which time the massed band assembly will be held. At this time each band entered en-tered in the day's events will be given a short time to maneuver and march and play before the huge crowd which annually gathers ga-thers for this big festival. |
