Show High School Drama Students Plan College Presentation A troupe of actors and actresses from Cedar City High School will be guests of College of Southern Utah speech department in presentation pre-sentation of two one-act plays next Wednesday afternoon. Under the direction of Miss Barbara Caddie, drama teacher, jthe students will furnish the pro-; pro-; gram for the weekly theatre mat-jinee mat-jinee sponsored by the C S U speech department. "The Purple Doorknob," by , Walter Prichard Eaton and "The Gift" by Marie, A. Foley, will be presented in the Eootstrap Theatre Thea-tre at 4 p. m. In the casts are Lois Meacham, Karolyn Knell and Jackie Winterrose for the j first play, and Shirlee Graff, Va-lene Va-lene Adams, George LeBaron III, Robert Ctark, Zina Limb and Jacqueline Jac-queline Boss. "The Purple Doorknob" Door-knob" is a comedy of modern times, while "The Gift" is a serious ser-ious play placed in Biblical times. The theatre matinee series Is open to students of the college and to townspeople. There Is no admission charge. The program for April 13 will be an hour of Commedia del Arte, or improvised, impro-vised, unrehearsed drama presented pre-sented by students of Frof. Richard Rich-ard M. Rowley. On following weeks the program will Include, "Everyman," "Volpone, or the Fox," by Ben Jonson; "Cyrano de Bergerac," by Rostand; "The Silver Sil-ver Cord," by Sidney Howard; "Command Decision," by William Wister Haines, and "The Admirable Admir-able Crichton" by Sir James M. Barrie. |
