Show American Legion i I Membership Drive in High Gear ' According to Milt Sevy, first vice commander of the local American Legion Post No. 74, the current membership drive for 1954 members is progressing very well. Burns Sherratt and Cluff Jolley, captains of the two teams in the membership contest, report re-port that the drive is showing good results with Sherratt's team in the lead at the present time. Jflley reports, however, that his team is just getting started, and that a very close race can be expected ex-pected for the duration of the contest. The individual winner in the contest will receive a $20 hat, with the four next highest winning win-ning other valuable prizes. The American Legion officers extend a cordial invitation to all eligible veterans living in Cedar City and the surrounding area, to attend the December membership meeting of the local post, Mr. Scvy says. The meeting will be held in the Cedar Elks Lodge at 8:00 p. m. Monday, December 7. A special program has been arranged. ar-ranged. Veterans who saw active duty in the following fol-lowing periods are eligible: Service Ser-vice during World War I between April 6, 1917 and November 11. 1918. World War II, between Dec. 7, 1941 and September 2, 1945. I The Korean War, from June 25, 1950 to the present date. |
