Show So. Utah Power Gives "Green Light" For Use Rate Study The board of directors of the Southern Utah Power Company has authorized a study of the power use rate structure in Cedar City and the area served by the company as a means of determining deter-mining proper rates for power users of the area. An engineering firm has been employed to make the study and has boon instructed to proceed immediately with it. Warren H. Bulloch, president, has advised Mayor L. V. Broad-bent Broad-bent of the board's decision in response to the mayor's recent! jrcauest that such a study be un-1 dertaken. Mr. Bulloch's letter to Mavur Broadbent stated that in the opinion of the board members mem-bers the study should be started immediately with the following objectives in mind: "1. To determine the cost to serve all classes of customers. "2. To develop the differential in cost of service to customers in and near Cedar City compared with the balance of the system. "3. To propose revised rate schedules which shall be equitable equita-ble and promotional." The company's engineering advisors, ad-visors, Stone & Webster Service Corporation, have been instructed to proceed with the study and to cc i.i lete it as soon as possible. Mr Bvlloch points out that with regard to the time required such a study is a major undertaking, invoicing the analysis in many cases of customer usage by accounts ac-counts However, he states that it is expected that the study can be completed early in 1954 after which results will be discussed in octall.
