Rul-ers. With only two more games to be played in the first half the Rangers seem to be the inevitable inevit-able winners in the first half. Garry Anderson of the Rotary nine, among the top in the home run department, smashed one over the fence against the Elks to score the only home run of the week. The Rangers completely complete-ly dominated the game against the Elks, scoring in every inning and in three of the six, scored five runs. The Elks on the other hand were able to score one run in the first and two in the fourth for their three runs. A well rounded, good fielding team, the Rotarians worked well in their only encounter this week, both in ; the field and at bat. The line score is as follows: Rotary 1 5 3 2 5 5 21 Elks 1 0 0 2 0 0 3 The Kiwanis Kubs, holding down the cellar post in the four team league were at the bottom of three games played during the week, suffering two losses to the Elks Rulers and one to the Lion Tamers in the remaining games. Close scores were the rule in all three games with the first encounter en-counter with the Elks club ending end-ing in a 16 to 13 victory for the Rulers and in the second game a two-run margin, 7 to 5, gave the Kubs their second defeat of the week. Against the Lions the Kubs again lost by a three-run margin 14 to 11, to leave both the Elks and Lions with a .500 average and the Kiwanians low on the totem pole with an average of .143. Line scores of the three games are as follows: Kiwanis 0'4 2 2 3 2 13 Elks 1 6 0 6 1 2 16 Kiwanis 1 3 1 0 0 0 5 Elks 1 3 2 1 0 0 7 Kiwanis 6 10 12 1 11 Lions 2 1 5 2 4 x 14 Tuesday evening when the Elks and Lions meet on the Little Lit-tle League field the first half of play will be ended for the youngsters young-sters and unless something drastic dras-tic happens the Rotarians will take the first half in a breeze. Following Tuesday evening's game, the Rotarians and Lions ; will initiate the second half Wednesday Wed-nesday evening and the four teams will start on an even keel again. If someone other than the Rangers should win the second half, it will demand a play-off at the end of the season for the league honors. . |
