Show Cedar High School Band Leaves Saturday To Compete in Colorful Helldorado Parade The Cedar City high school band, rated as one of the finest marching bands In the state, as a result of trophies won In competition com-petition over the past years, will leave Saturday forenoon to participate parti-cipate in the Las Vegas Helldorado Helldor-ado program. The band will march In the feature parade of the four day celebration Sunday afternoon. The group holds the sweepstakes trophy from the Helldorado by virtue of its triumph last spring, but needs to win it three times to gain permanent possession. It is not known whether the group will be eligible for this trophy because regulations usually require re-quire bands to march in both pa-ades pa-ades to be eligible. The first parade pa-rade will be held this afternoon, but it would take the students out of school for two days and have them away from home for four days, if they participated in the whole celebration. The students will be taken to the pioneer village and other entertinment features Saturday evening, and will make a trip to Boulder Dam Sunday forenoon. They will march in the parade during the afternoon and then return home Sunday evening. They will make the trip in school buses. |
