BERYL NEWS NOTES j The members of the Beryl PTA enjoyed an excellent program on Child Guidance at the last regular regu-lar meeting of the organization. Mrs, Phyllis Wood gave a discussion discus-sion of character development, Mrs. Ester Tinker on discipline and Mrs. Augusta Hunt a discussion discus-sion of affection in family life. Instead of the usual musical numbers Mrs. Edith Hunt gave appropriate readings for children. chil-dren. Nominations have ben made for election of officers for the PTA, including Mrs. Edith Hunt. Mrs. Ester Tinker, Mrs. Schwartz, Mrs. Jenor Whitelaw and Mrs. Phyllis Wood. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Holland enjoyed en-joyed a visit this week from Mr. Holland's sister, Mrs. C. L. Lue-ping Lue-ping of Boulder City, New, and from his mother, Mrs. Lee Holland Hol-land of Long Beach, Calif. Mrs. I Holland remained to visit for a few weeks. I At a 4-H club meeting held at the home of Mrs. Gladys Hoi-I Hoi-I land. Elwood Thompson was ap-I ap-I pointed leader to succeed Morris Miller, and the boys elected club officers. The officers elected were Richard Hunt, president; Tony Walker, vice president, and Thomas Tho-mas Holland, secretary and treasurer. trea-surer. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hunter are visiting in California for a few! days. Little David Pyper suffered a I foot injury last week while riding rid-ing on a tractor with his mother. He is recovering nicely. Mrs. John Smith presented a! returned missionary in a talk on! Jamaica Islands, the inhabitants, missionary work and how the people accept the gospel. The group met at the school house to hear the talk, and refreshments refresh-ments were served by Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Mamie Walter's, Mrs. John McGarry and Mrs. Robert Hunter Jack Godard was home recently recent-ly on a ten-day leave from military mili-tary service. He was enroute from Lowry air base in Colorado to Hamilton field in California. Mr. and Mrs. DiShing and family of Long Beach, Calif., have been visiting here with Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Godard.
