Show Club Notes Mrs. Ralph Box Mrs. Lanoir Jones entertained the Wednesday night bridge club ' this past week. Spring flowers adorned the tables for. 12 members. mem-bers. Prizes went to Mrs. Merrill Kunz, Mrs. Donald Mathews and Mrs. C. Ahlstrom. Traveling prize went to Mrs. Hugh Cheever. O. E. S. chapter U. D. held a special meeting Friday, May 7. Hostess to club members were Mrs. Joseph Roach and Mrs. Ernest Ern-est Boyns. Officers' wives of the National Guard were guests of the St. George ladies on Thursday. Mr. C. R. Whitmer was guest speaker. speak-er. He reported to the ladies on conditions in Korea and his activity ac-tivity while there. Hostesses to the group were Mmes. John P. Lamb, Mac L. Sullivan, Phil Squires and Stratford Snow. Mrs. Dee Cowan was hostess to her Duplicate bridge, Monday evening at her home. Guests of the club were Mrs. Grant Seaman, Sea-man, Mrs. Haze Hunter and Mrs. Corry Olson. O. E. S. chapter U. D. held a regular meeting Monday at the Presbyterian church. Refreshments Refresh-ments were served to the members mem-bers and guests by Mr. and Mrs. O. D. Hole. Mrs. Arthur Higbee was hostess host-ess to members of her Tuesday night bridge club. Prizes were won by Miss Audrey Haight, Mrs. Bruce Decker and Mrs. Court Nelson. Nel-son. Rotary Anns and Rotarians met under the direction of B. F. Quinn, Rotary sessions chairman, Tuesday noon at El Escalante hotel for lunch. Completion of plans for the convention were discussed and the R O T C quartet quar-tet furnished vocal selections. Guests were Maj. O. W. Harris and Capt. L. F. Schmidt. Rotary Anns are assisting in much of the activity: Mrs. Stanley Bradshaw, Brad-shaw, decorations; Mrs. Kumen Jones, registration; Mrs. C. L. Ewing, entertainment; Mrs. Fred La Frentz, transportation; Mrs. Homer Jones and Mrs. Giles Bo-lander, Bo-lander, general chairmen. The Elks lodge held its annual banquet for the outgoing and new officers of B.P.O.E., Saturday evening at El Escalante ballroom ball-room with Sen. John Beal as toastmaster for the dinner. Sweetpeas were given to each lady, to adorn her dress. To complete com-plete the evening Elks and their partners gathered at the Elks club room for dancing. Good music and a large crowd made this affair a huge success. Our best to Steve Asmus and Lee Wood who were in charge. We find at El Escalante hotel, Mrs. E. T. Merridith, owner and publisher of the Merridith Publishing Pub-lishing Co. (Better Homes and Gardens) visiting Cedar City again. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Heaton motored to Moccasin. Ariz., on Sunday. Mr. Heaton plans to remain re-main there with his folks for a few weeks visit. ORCHIDS r To Mrs. Bert Carpenter, Ada, , to her many friends. A young mother caring for ; three children and a home, giving time to her community. Just completing her year as vice president of the P. T. A., she is first counselor in the Primary association.
