In the inspection party, which was here Tuesday and Wednesday, Wednes-day, were Col. H. E. Todd, Lt. Col. R. Curtis. Maj. D. W. Young and Capt. B. B. Peterson. Col. Todd gave the local unit a satisfactory rating, and termed the entire unit a very "efficient" operation. As part of the review for Col. Todd Tuesday morning, the annual awards for the ROTC were presented at a ceremony held in the BAC stadium. The award for the "outstanding" "outstand-ing" cadet honor student, went to SSgt. Bruce Jenson, Redmond, who maintained a scholastic average av-erage of 98.8. The award was sponsored by the Cedar City Elk3 lodge, with Warren Bulloch, making mak-ing the presentation. LaMae Finlinson, Oak City, received re-ceived the award for the outstanding out-standing sponsor. This award was sponrared by the Cedar City Kiwanis club, with Lee Empey making the presentation. The outstanding cadet officer award went to Cadet Lt. Col. Donald Staheli of Hurricane. Sponsored by the Cedar City Rotary Ro-tary club, the award was presented pre-sented by Smoot Seaman. -The award to the outstanding non-commissioned officer went to Theon Thorley, Cedar City, with Milton Sevy presenting the award for the Cedar City Lions club. Award for the outstanding (Flight was presented by the Veterans Vet-erans of Foreign Wars post in Cedar City with Cadet Capt. Earl Grotto, Pioche, Nev., accepting the award for the flight. |
