Below is the all-girl Rainbow Rain-bow Chorus, which will appear as guest artist on the Master Singers program Saturday. The group is under the direction of Mrs. Larson. Master Singers Announce Program For Saturday Evening Concert Here The program for the Master Singers concert on Saturday, May 13, at 8:15 in the public school auditorium, was announced this week by 1 Reed Eerrett, director of the 50-voice male chorus. Appearing as guest artists on the concert program will be the Rainbow Chorus, an all-girl group. The program will open with the theme song, "Salutation" by Gaines. The, Master Singers will then be heard in "Hail Bright Abode" from Tannhauser, by Wagner; "Thou Art Repose", Schubert, and "Morning" by Oley Speaks. Two selections, not yet announced, an-nounced, will then be given by the Master Singers Quartet. This will be followed tey "Strike Up The Band", Gershwin; "In My Garden", Firestone, and "Take Joy Home", Bassett, performed by the Master Singers. After the above, the Rainbow Chorus will take the stage, and will be heard in three numbers: "Begin the Beguinc", Cole Porter; "A Song Remembered", Eric Coates, and "Zlguener", Noel Coward. This chorus is under the direction of Virginia Larson, who is the accompanist for both choral chor-al groups. Following the Rainbow Chorus numbers, the Master Singers will return to the stage to be heard singing, "Pilgrims' Song", by Tschaikowsky; "Lullaby", by Brahms, and "Battle llvmn of the Republic", Steffe. Two more selections will be given by the Master Singers Quartet, after which the chorus will present a novelty number, "Buy a Broom", with Herschell Necley, tenor, as soloist. Closing number on the pro-pram pro-pram will be "Discovery" by Grieg. Another concert has been scheduled for the popular chorus, when it travels to Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, June 10, where it will appear under the sonsorship of the Las Vegas Elks club. The concert here this week, will mark the first in Cedar City in the past two years. |
