Show City Ordinances Should Be Revised Cedar City is faced with the rather urgent need of revising re-vising the city ordinances, and although it may be a rather expensive undertaking it should be done soon. The city has made a rapid growth in recent years, and with this growth has come a need of many changes in city laws and ordinances, and for the adoption of many new regulations. New ordinances have been adopted, such as zoning laws, sanitation regulations, building regulations, regula-tions, and many, many others. Old laws have been amended amend-ed to meet changing times and changing conditions. . Never during this period of change has the city ordinances or-dinances been revised and brought up to date. It is confusing con-fusing to city officials, and police officers charged with the responsibility of enforcing the many regulations, and even more confusing to the citizens who must comply with them. If we are to observe these regulations properly, and if the officers are to enforce them fairly and justly it is imperative that all ordinances be compiled in a printed book, and all amended and repealed laws or section of laws be removed from the ordinance book. If Mayor Gronway R. Parry and the present City Council will approve the revising of the ordinances and the printing of a new ordinance or-dinance book, they will have rendered a service that will do-much to make Cedar City a more orderly .and better regulated city. |
