Show Political Savants of University of Utah to Appear on Panel; Address Public on Governmental Problems Dr. Charles 0. Lerche, Jr., assistant as-sistant professor of political science sci-ence at the University of Utah, will be one of the main speakers appearing on a panel dealing with governmental problems March 14 and 15 in Cedar City. C a LERCRE Homer Durham, head of the institute in-stitute of government; Dr. Frank H. Jones, associate professor of political science; Dr. S. Grover, Jr., Instructor In political science; and Dr. E. E. Weaver, lecturer in political science. At the university, Dr. Lerche serves as faculty advisor to the International Relations Club and consultant to the Institute of Government in the field of international in-ternational politics and relations. His services have been greatly in demand, Including a call to serve at the Woodrow Wilson School of International Affairs at the University Un-iversity of Virginia during the summer of 1948, and with a re-turn re-turn invitation for the summer of 1919. At the Cedar City conference on governmental problems, there will be a general session at the seslon at the Public School Aud-Public Aud-Public School auditorium, Monday, Mon-day, at 8:30 p. m. Dr. Lerche will discuss "The UNESCO Approach" on the general subject, "Ap-proachos "Ap-proachos to One World". At Noon of the same day he will appear on the panel before the Lions Club, discussing, "The Citizen, Government, and the United Nations." Tuesday, March 15, the panel will appear before the Rotary Club at noon. Dr. Lerche will dis- cuss "The United Nations." Sponsored by the Adult Education Educa-tion Comlttee and the UNESCO Committee of the Cedar City Co-ordlnatlng Co-ordlnatlng Council, the two committees com-mittees have met Jointly and drawn up the program. Presiding at the various meetings will be Professor Charles B. Cooley, chairman chair-man of the Adult Education com-mittee com-mittee of the Coordinating Council Coun-cil and W. Kirk Daly, chairman of UNESCO. The trip Is sponsored by the university's Institute of Government Govern-ment and the extension division under the directorship of Dr. Durham, who will lead the two day affair. |
