Two more of last year's senior cla&o now home on a furlough from the army visited at the High School this week. They were Clark and Clair Macfarlane, who have been training with the Army Air Corps iround crews at Lowry Field, Denver, Den-ver, Colorado. The Senior party was postponed last Friday because of difficulties that arose. The seniors are hard at woik, however in preparing for the Senior Hop. "Paper Doll" was chos- en as the theme, and all the committees com-mittees are working hard to make mis the be.f dance ever presented by the Cedar High. The Future Farmers, under the direction of Mr. Anderson, conducted conduct-ed an initiation Wednesday In which about thirty members of the organization were advanced to the rank of Green Hens. The Art exhibit was a big success suc-cess this year with quite a number being sold to towns people and one to the School Board to go in their office. Hie High School bought "The Harbor Scene" to add to IU collection. From all reports, the exhibit ex-hibit was enjoyed by everyone. Coach Bailey's "Red Men" have played three practice basketball games now and won all of them. They play another one Wednesday on the local floor. Keep up the good work, toys; a basketball trophy j would look nice in the showcase ,aloig with the other awards won by the whool. 'I he school has Just completed arrangements to purchase the "Encyclopedia "En-cyclopedia Americana" which will mean that they now have one of the most complete research libraries for a school in this part of the country, as they already had "Encyclopedia "En-cyclopedia prltankct." "ConiptoiVs Encyclopedia," "Boole or Knowledge" ar.d others. Mr. Duly received another shipment ship-ment ne books the other day numbering about 63. These books consist of a wide variety of fiction and a large number of biographies. Among the fiction are such books as; "Mamato Bank Account", by Kathryn Forbes; "Journey for Margaret", Mar-garet", by William I White, which was made Into a fine motion picture last year; and "Short Cut to Tokyo", the "Battle for the Aleu-lans", Aleu-lans", by Corey Ford. There are also biographies about women such as the book entitled "First Ladies", which Is the story of the woman who lived in theWhlte House. |
