Show Clothing Salvage Drive Concluded In Iron County The recent clothing salvage drive coi ducted In Iron County was extremely ex-tremely successful, according to Mrs. Parson U. Webster, Iron County chairman of the Ladies' Salvage division. Six thousand, one hundred nlnety.four pieces of clothing, 107 pounds of usable stockings, 50 pounds of silk hosiery, hos-iery, and 647 pounds of rags which will be ground up and made Into clothing, were shipped this morning. morn-ing. In addition to this, 600 pounds of rags were turned over to the Ainiy Air Corps In Cedar City and th? Iron mines of the county. Mrs. Webster announces that a surprisingly large amount of al-tmt al-tmt new . clothing in excellent condition, much of lt mnefc of fine virgin wool, was contributed by the citizens of the county. The clothing turned in consisted of men's and boys' suits, overcoats, pants, and overalls; ladles, .girls and children's coats, cresses, pajamas pa-jamas and underclothing, as well as Infant's apparrcl.- The clothing will be used for relief re-lief at home and for 'the rehab. Members of the salvage committee wish to express their apprciatlon for the wonderful response to the call for discarded clothing and to especially thank the Minute Women, Wo-men, and the various community salvage sal-vage committee chairmen, foi collecting col-lecting the clothing; the members of the women's auxiliary of the local lo-cal B. P. O. E. organization, the Relief Societies of the various wards, and the American Legion Auxiliary members who assisted in sowing and packing the contributions; contribu-tions; the State Guard for the use of a room In the Armory Building as a storeroom; radio station KSUB for the time given to broadcasts about the drive; and to the cleaning clean-ing establishments who cooperat. ed wholeheartedly In cleaning about 1 jPO plecej.
