Show Local Restaurants Faced With Red Point Shortage The matter of the supply of Red Points for Cedar City Cafes again came to the attention of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce this week when cafe operators notified the board that unless some relief from the situation situa-tion was found it would be necessary to close the cares rrom about August Aug-ust 5th. to September 1st. The operators op-erators report tihat only enough points are available to operate for about a week of August and another an-other alotment will not be forth coming until September 1st. Tills together with reports that cates in adjoining towns are serving serv-ing steaks and a variety or meat dishes regularly, has stirred a protest pro-test rrom the local operators and patrons. As a result the Chamber has appointed a committee coin-posed coin-posed or Don Draper, Warren Bulloch, Bul-loch, and H. M. Endsley to meet with the operators and the local rationing Board to attempt to work out a solution to the problem. It is pointed out that the Federal rationing set-up allows .8 or a red point for each patron served regardless re-gardless of what he Is served anything any-thing rrom a 10c item to a full meal. This the operators maintain Is not enough to permit the serving of meat dishes regularly, end they claim that if any cafe is serving such Items they must be getting their supply of meat from some other source than regular rationing channels. i |
