Show ALLIES TO KEEP ALL GERMAN COLONIES SUCH IS THE ATTITUDE OF GREAT BRITAIN, FRANCE AND JAPAN. Simultaneous Announcement That There Will be No Return to Germany Ger-many of Colonies in Africa, Asia or the Pacific. London The death knell to' Germany's Ger-many's colonial possessions has been sounded, so far as the entente allies can effect that result, by the almost simultaneous announcement of the British minister of colonies, Mr. Ixmg; the Japanese minister of foreign affairs, af-fairs, Mr. Motono, and the prime minister min-ister of New Zealand, Mr. Mossey, who voiced the view of Australia, as well as New Zealand. Together these statements declare there will be no return re-turn to Germany of her colonies in Africa, Asia or the Pacific. Thla attitude Is not only held by Japanese nnd the British colonies chiefly concerned, but It has the backing back-ing of the British and French governments, govern-ments, which have the largest interest inter-est in colonial Africa and Asia. It develops de-velops the fact also that the late As-qulth As-qulth government was opposed to ony extension of British colonial possessions posses-sions In Africa, whereas the new Lloyd George government approves this extension as In line with the as pirationa of the British colonies In Africa. This In turn has established that there will.be a general reshlftlng of African colonies, so that the possessions pos-sessions of Kngland, France, Portugal Portu-gal and Belgium will be made more homogeneous, instead of being scattered scat-tered and irregular In outline, aa at present. |
