Show T DISASTROUS FIRES. Two More Diazes Cause Damage to Property Owners of Parowan and Vicinity. Parowan hns been 'visited with two moro disastrous fires the past week, making three fires in the past two weeks. On Tuesday evening just before be-fore dark a blaze was discovered in the tithing barns which spread to a barn of Burt Bros., which was under construction. Some thirty tons, of hay, with the barn was lost in the tithing ti-thing yards, while Burt Brothers' loss was about three hundred and fifty dollars, some building materials for their new house being stored there, and was a total loss. Everybody turned out and worked with a vim. Partition fences wore torn out, the fire department did their best and it was fortunate that the surrounding buildings were saved, as quite a breeze was blowing at the time. Early in the afternoon last Monday fire broke out in John H. Brown's barn, which was totally destroyed by the flames. Dr. James Green lost a-' a-' bout 15 tons of hay, which was in the barn. He was fortunate in saving both his teams, which were turned into in-to the street after tho barn was all ablaze. Thero is a movement on foot to assist as-sist those who have been so unfortunate unfortu-nate as to lose heavily in the recent fires, i Boys and matches are believed to be responsible for both of these disasters. |
