Show MUCH NEEDED IMPROVEMENT Parents' Classes Hare Taken Up the Proposition of Beautifying Tabernacle Grounds. Last Sunday morning in Parents' ClaBs tho proposition of grading and planting to lawn the grounds surrounding sur-rounding the tabernacle was discussed and the members of the class were unanimous in the conclusion that it should be done and selected John M. Hlgbcc to take the matter up and car-: car-: ry it to a successful conclusion. Mr. II. has offered to give twenty days labor I free towards helping to dq the work, and is now busy talking to the people who aro interested and enlisting their assistance. The plan is to grade Main street and also First South, and grado tho grounds to conform to these streets. It will require much work, but when completed it will enhance the beauty of this portion of the city, which is one of the most conspicuous spots in town. This is a move in the right direction, direc-tion, nnd the work proposed should have been done years ago Strangers coming Into n town usually form their opinion of the progressiveness of the people by the appcaranco of their public pub-lic buildings to a very great extent, and we owe it to ourselves to see that our tabernacle and its surroundings surround-ings aro in keeping with tho character charac-ter and past record of the people. The move strted by the Parents' Class is a good one. Push it along. |
