Show ENVIABLE RECORD OF TWELFTH DIST. Has Oversubscribed its (Junta in Each of the Four Past Big Liberty Loan Drives. An enviable record in oversubscribing oversub-scribing four Liberty Loans faces the Twelfth Federal Reserve District as the local committees of the seven states and two territories in the district dis-trict make their plans to eclipse dur-in dur-in the Victory drive the marks which j were established under the stress of actual fighting on the western front. Upon each previous call by the j government the Twelfth District hns I gone over its quota. In the First Liberty Loan of 1917 just after this county entered the war the quota of this district was $143,644,950. At the end of the campaign the district had subscribed $175,623,900 more than $30,000,000 in excess of what had been asked or an oversubscription oversubscrip-tion of 22.24 per cent. The quota set for the Twelfth Federal Fed-eral Reserve District at the lieginning of the second loan in the fall of 1917 was $210,000,000 and again the district dis-trict pntriotically gave the govern-; govern-; ment more that was asked by buying buy-ing $293,1(50,500, the total of excess subscriptions amounting to $40,000,000 j or an oversubscription of almost forty per cent, the best record made for any of the four previous drives. When the government cnlled for the third loan early in 1918 the quota ; assigned to the Twelfth District was the same as in the second drive and for the third time the district did more that its alloted share by taking I $287,975,000 an oversubscription of 37.13 per cent. The territory of AI- ! aska carried off the banner for the baat showing making a subscription of 252 per cent of the quota given her. Arizona rame next with a subscription sub-scription amounting to 213 per cent of her quota and Nevada followed , with a total of 18(5 per cent of her' quota. The fourth loan last September I more than doubled the amount of any , of the previous loans and gave this district a quota of $102,000,000. The district raised $4)52,250,000 or an over subscription of 14 per cent. Alaska again captured first place for oversubscribing, over-subscribing, taking 232 per cent of , the amount asked. - |
