Show KANARRA Kanarra, Utah, January 15, 1920. George E. Roundy and wife of Oasis were here about a week, lee.ying for home last Tuesday. They were visiting vis-iting Mr Roundy's parents. Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Roundy, while here. James S. Berry returned home the first of this week from his sheep camp where he went about Thanksgiving time. Thirty-nine of the sports of this place went to Hurricane New Years day to witness or participate in a game of baseball between the Kanarra Kan-arra and Hurricane teams. The game resulted in a score of 7 to 7. The Kanarra tean. had played only three games in two years. One of these games was played in New Harmony letween Christmas and New Years, ami the other two at home. Then they went to Hurricane. In a foot-racing contest Golden Roundy beat their best man about 8 feet; Cleo Williams beat their next best man and LaMar Graff outdid their best jumper. The present cold snap jh consuming lots of fuel mostly wood as the Thanksgiving: snowstorm shut us out from the coal mine. Only a few obtained ob-tained their full supply of 'coal and about half of the people didn't get any. Berry Williams is going to Salt I-ake City today to attend the Wool-growers' Wool-growers' convention. Miss Verda Williams is suffering from a bad case of St. Vitas dance. The ward teachers are busy making their rounds this month. v Mrs. George Davis is in Salt Lake City having her eyes treated. She has undergone two operations and another an-other is believed to be necessary. The lady has leen suffering for more than a month with the trouble. Our school teachers all went to Salt Lake City to the Teachers' Convention, Con-vention, and all returned but one. This nercssitated hiring another Her failure to come necessitated the t m plo v men t of another teacher. e A Miss Evans of California is here I visiting her sister, Mrs. Charles Par-' Par-' ker, Jr., and is now filling the vacancy in the teaching force at our schiol. |
