M OPENS MONDAY, FEB 9; I CLOSES SATURDAY, FEB. 14 I F.xperts From Various Parts of the H United States to be Here, and M Indications Point to Record- M Breaking Attendance This Year. M What gives promise of a rare treat H for the progressive farmers and house H wives of the south is heading this way H It is none other thnn the Twelfth An- H mi. -it Farmers' Round-up and House- I keepers' Conference of the Rranch B Agricultural College of Utah. If the H statement be true that the past de H termines the future, the success of the H approaching Round-up is assured. For H the attendance of the good people of H Southern Utah at the Round-ups has H been of the most gratifying order. H President John E. Widtsoe, President H E. Q, Peterson and Professor John T. H Cnine III have all made the statement H more than once that for attendance H and interest in proportion to popula- H tion, the Round-ups of Southern Utah H bii .. established world records. VJ That farmers should make some H stir when their important gatherings H come along is not to be wondered at, H for they are accustomed to making M "dirt fly." It Is a common thing for flj them to "move the earth" to turn at M least some of it "upside down." and M having rolled up their sleeves, they , H next proceed to "bust up" and "knock il to pieces" until the object of their iM wrath is thoroughly ground down and mM pulverized. When such men get to- 'hHI gether and in addition bring with M them their wives who have "trained H them to it" for years, something in- M deed worth while is about t, happen. M When to this is added the prospects -H of addresses by some of the leading M authorities in America and some of M the experts from the Utah Agricultur- H al College on the identical subjects in H which the farmer is most interested M his farm problems It may be safely I assumed that the farmer will be there H with both eyes open, with eurs alert, H and with nn active tongue. i M Professor John T. Caine III, Direct H or of the Extension Division of the H Utah Agricultural College, says- H "The annual Farmers' Round-up H and Housekeepers' Conference of tho M Utah Agricultural College is cominc- H to be an institution every year and H the interest and attendance increases. H We are preparing a better program for 1020 than we ever have had in the I past, and from reports which we H have received from field agents thru fl out the state we have reason to look fl for a record-breaking attendance. H "The Round-up and Conference H really comprise a college for grown- H ups who, because of other duties, are H unable to attend the regular college M courses and who are desirous of learn- ing the latest and best methods in H ! their respective lines of work. The H meetings are held at the time of year H when it is convenient for the farmer to go to college, when his mind is sufficiently free from other cares to H enable him to devote his thoughts to this concentrated form of education I winch we prepare for him. By close H application to lectures, demonstra- 9 tions ami practical training ufforded M by the college staff at the Round-up, H he I III home with a thorough knowledge of the latest agricultural I stock raising, horticultural or dairy- H mi- methods that have been developed H within the preceeding twelve months."
