By a grave oversight in the press of work, we neglected the publication of an obituary notice for Sister Rachel EveiM Harris, one of the aged and respected old residents of this place, who passed away on July 27th, and was buried July 2!(th the funeral services being held in the Tabernacle Deceased reached the ripe old age of 88 years and leaves a large progeny consisting of seven children, forty-six grandchildren and forty great-grandchildren, BIOGRAPHICAL Rachel Evans was bom on the liOth , day of August, l&iO, in the little town I of Hirwam, South Wales. She was baptize ' into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when she was 18 years of age Was married to William Rowland in 1848, and emigrated emi-grated to America in lH-l'.i, coming on to Utah in 1852 Her first husband died, and in 1857 she was married to John Harris. Dei eased was a faithful member of her Church, a kind and devoted mother, mo-ther, and a hard worker both in her home life and in Church and eomniun it.v affairs. She has gone to a well-earned well-earned rest. |
