Show I B. A. C. NOTES The "vutoriniis" B. A. C. basket ball team returned from Panguitth today, with their score pad running over with points. The score was lit to :t7 in favor of the B. A. C. After the game the Panguitch high school ' students entertained the B. A. C. fellows at a very enjoyable dancing party. A match game of basket ball is to lake place next Friday between the II. A. C. giants and the Bciver five 1 Beaver. The B. A. C. is ready to ret ive the old, but ever-welcome story which is "victory." Friday night the Girls' Chorus anted the opera, "The Wild Rose" to a large and appreciative audience, at the B. A. C. auditorium. With Mamie Gardner M Rose, Vera Rose U Bobbie, and Libby (lower as Mrs. Fua-ay, Fua-ay, it was a great success. It was under the able management of the head Of the Music department, Mr. j Frisby, and he is to be complimented on the presentation of the first opera j of this year. He is going to begin work on ti larger and better opara Immediately after the holidays. Good news has reached the college that the long expected machinery for the Woodwork department has been shipped at last, and it is now daily expected. Soon the hum of the planer, plan-er, the swish of the band saw, the chopping of the mortiser, accompanied by the other characteristic sounds of an efficient milling plant will be a part of the daily activities of the B. A. C. The liberal appropriation of the legislature made it possible for the school management to secure the: bst equipment on the market. Special Spec-ial care was observed in the selection i of the safety devices for which the Oliver Machinery Company is fam-. ous; so that when all is installed the: school enn boast of the best shop of its kind of any of the schools of the Btate. This department will be pre-' oared after the holidays to erect such . small farm buildings as can be moved away from, the shop on skids. Ah j s'uch work will be done by contract, j so if anybody desires any building if i this nature let him make his wants known to the head of the deparln en'. It is a gratifying fact that the Branch Agricultural College is so well prepared to do active work in the national movement for preparedness nd efficiency, which is so necessary during the present crisis. In the recent re-cent governmental survey of the achoola of the country, the B. A. C. was able to answer that it was prepared pre-pared to give technical training In seventeen lines of mechanical work. The I 'nine, tic Art girla are complying com-plying most admirably with the conditions con-ditions of the times. They are being taught to "makeover," to save, and to wisely buy indeed, they are accomplishing ac-complishing wondera along the con-aervation con-aervation lines. In the end, the re-! suit will certainly be the mastery of atrict economy, and the joy of aiding our country in its financial stirs.-.. That department is also beginning Bed Cross work. The work is well under way, and will soon be system atically arranged and organised, The Music department is full of life; and growing mora productive every day. "Pocahontas," a rare musical feature, is being given much care and attention and will soon be presented! by the chorus members. All those who took part in the op era, including the orchestra members. were entertained at a card party Sat unlay evening in the auditorium A light luncheon was served, and all those present had a most delihtfu' time. C. gymnasium a most fascinating game of basket ball between be-tween the IV.owan Iliuh and the B. A. C. teams. Much antagonism was shown to exist between the two contestants, con-testants, thus causing the same spirit to exist in the crowd. The teams were very evenly matched iii weight, but the V, A. C. boys showed more icii i ee in passing the bail. When the name was over the score stood 'M to 12 , in favor of the B. A. C.
