Show CA1 HON TO BED (ROSS MFMBF.RS ON XMAS EVE Under date of IVcomber 17th, W P. Mcl'hee, Division Chairman of the Red Cross Christmas membership campaign, stationed at Denver, sends out the following note of warning to all chapters, branches and auxiliaries of the Society at large: "The Board of Underwriters urge great caution be used regarding the Bed Cross Servii e Flags on Christmas Eve. "It is most necessary that everything every-thing possible be done tO guard a-gainst a-gainst fire risks. The nation is at war. Everything must be conserved. Impress Im-press upon members new or old- to use caution with the lighted candle. Directions should be given for taking down of all curtains no that the homes of the less intelligent classes will not be endangered. "The raising of the shades will permit per-mit the light of the room to illuminate illumi-nate the sheets, or electric flash lights nets the sheets, or electric Hash lights may be used. "In connection with the Christmas ceremony, it is suggested that the chapters arrange with the local churches tO chime their bells at half I hour intervals from 7:.'!0 to 9 p. m. on Christmas Eve. "Please see that instructions are given to everyone where candles are used, to bo careful of curtains, draperies, drap-eries, etc." A . |
