Edward Bentley is in receipt of a letter from his son Edward, who is in the army, stating1 that he was stationed sta-tioned on the enstern coast of the United States, and expected in a few-days few-days to be in mid-ocean bound for France. Mrs. McAllister and Mrs. Amelia Topham entertained the Golden Hour club last week. Plans were made for a social to be given in the near future fu-ture A dainty tray luncheon was served nnd each lady presented with a beautiful pink carnation. The afternoon af-ternoon was very much enjoyed. A Chapter of the Red Cross Society of America ha.s been organised here, with the following officers: Chairman, Chair-man, George Mitchell; vice chairman, Nora Orton; secretary, Ada McGregor; McGreg-or; treasurer, Morgan Richards, The drive for membership has already begun be-gun and is proving very successful. Dr. James E. Talmage nave an interesting in-teresting address in the tabernacle last Monday evening on Obedience. Some five hundred people were in attendance, at-tendance, many from neighboring towns in the county. Any who were absent certainly missed a treat as it is only once in a long time that we r- . .. i . . . . . are so fortunate as to have a man like Dr. TsllBSfS with us. Mr. and Mrs. EL A. Burton entertained enter-tained at a Five Hundred party last Saturday evening. Those present "en , ,l.u;. Brown, and Floyd Binder, Dainty refreshments were served daring the srening and all present report a very pleasant time. Charles D. Adams has gone to California Cal-ifornia for a short visit. He anticipates antici-pates seeing his son Orlando who is stationed on Mare Island, after which he will go down to Santa Monica and go "through the Pacific Coast Glass Factory, in which ho is interested. He will return by wny of Salt Lake City and visit with his daughter, Miss Claribel, who is attending school at the L. D. S. College. She will probably prob-ably accompany her father home and remain until after the holidays. & |
