Show Kanarraville. Tuesday night the Mutuals gave a farwell party in honor of John Henry Williams and Wm. B. Stapley who are leaving Thursday for missions, Williams to the Eastern States and Stapley Stap-ley to the Southern States. The proceeds of the parttf with $24 as a gift from the Y. L. M. I. A. were divided equally between the two. The Y. L. M. I. A. gave the missionaries a bundle shower Monday night and as a result - each received twelve pairs of colored socks and a handkerchief handker-chief from those in attendance. The coal mine closed down Wednesday for a week while Ren Williams went to Leeds to get a steel car and some track. Last Friday Jode Williams went to Lund for freight for his store. John Stapely is building a home in the cast part of town. Louis Balser is also building, jus teast of the tithing granary. Last Sunday Dr. Leonard was called to Kanarra by the health officer to see a suspicious case of dypthoria. After a careful diagnosis diag-nosis it was pronounced dyp-theria. dyp-theria. The unfortunate person is Cora Williams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Williams, who live about two miles south of town. Before leaving, the doctor gave the patient 3000 unites of antitoxin and at this writing she is getting along fine and there are no other sym-toms sym-toms in the family. The only persons exposed outside of the family are a little six-year-old son of J. J. Roundy and Mrs. Geo. Wood of Hurricane. The last crop of hay is fast being cut and hauled before the killing frost comes. The sheep men are fast moving down from the mountains. Alex Morris and Wilford Mc-Arthur Mc-Arthur of St. George are here after coal. |
