Oh, merriest time of all the year, Wo hail thy coming with hearts of cheor. Season of cold days and long winter nights, When the light of tho Yule log gleams cheerful and bright. Then the wholo world like a faryland seems, When the rays of tho sun through the atmosphere streams Lighting a gray, dismal world with its rays, Then, indeed, are our happiest days. When old mother earth dons her robo of white, And in spite of the darkness our days uro bright. For the whole world joins in tho season's sea-son's glee, For Christmas time is coon to be. The song of the skaters ring loud and clear. Oh, what is so rare as our winter's cheer? We love the days of spring so bright, Summer, we hail with great delight. Autumn too, wjll bring its joys, But winter is best for gins and boys. MIRIAM BURTON. |
