As is usual, the crop of candidates from Salt Lake City is largo and of the rogi lation variety, and nothing is being left undone .o grab all the nominations. Of all the candidates mentioned for places on any of tho tickets fcjr stato offices, only two or three arc residents of) other sections of tho stato, Of course, there aro a number who claim residence outside of the capitol, for tho purposo of influencing the voters of a certain locality, local-ity, but invariably they have long been residing in Salt Lake anil have established permanent homes and invested in business there to such an extent that thoy no longer contemplate taking up thoir residence I'gain in their former homes. Political manipulation, trading, flattery, nor any other blinding issue should bo allowed to thwart tho desires of tho people of tho south part of tho state. Delegates should go to their conventions conven-tions determined to nominate a southern man, an actual and not a theoretical resident of tho district dis-trict which ho is to represent. |
