II. Arthur, county a chairman. The convention or- fH ganized by electing Morgan Rich- ards of Parowan, permanent 4il chairman, and J. II. Arthur of H I Cedar City, permanent sccre- H tary. jH The election of delegates was M spirited, the honor being sought j by a number of tho party work- 'M ers. The following wore chosen: H E. II. Ryan, J: II. Arthur, M Cedar City; E. L. Clark, Wilford H Day, H. M. Ilendrickson, Par- JM owan; J. C Robinson, Jr., Par- 'H agoonah; Geo. A. H "That we favor the renomina- H tion of Governor Spry. H "That we favor tho nomination M for congress of a representative M from the southern part of tho .H state." In addressing the convention M in support of his motion, Mr. H Day made some pointed referenc- ,M cs to the presidential candidates 'M of the other parties. Of Mr. )M Roosevelt he said: "Roosevelt M may defy the beasts of the Afri- M can jungles but he is making a .fl mistake by hunting big game in M the United States." And of M Wilson. "Professor Wilson is all M tight in his line, but what the M country wants is performers and JH not professors." M A motion was passed to the H effect that it be the sense of the M convention that the judicial .con- M vention be called for Cedar City. M Oratory flowed fluently and freely M and it was the sense of the speak H ers that victory for the party H in the state was assured but that H to win in the nation would re- "H quire unceasing efforts until H election day.
