','' rington's eligibility as a witness , 'i' in the bribery trial of Clarence S. Darrow. ' Harrington's testimony, how- y- jver, was limited to alleged B ,- crimes in which he participated with the defendant. Harrington testified that Darrow Dar-row had shown him last Septem-1 Septem-1 ber a roll of bills which Darrow . had said contained $10,000 and which were procured from Tveit- moe's bank in San Francisco; that Darrow told him at thetime ' that if he could arrange to reach a couple of jurymen James B. McNamara would never be convicted. con-victed. Harrington also testified that on the morning of Bert Franklin's Frank-lin's arrest for trying to bribe George N. Lockwood, Darrow had said to the witness: "My God! If he speaks I am ruined," in reply to Harrington's question whether Darrow would be involved in-volved in the scandal. The direct examination was J brief. Harrington testified that it was upon Darrow's orders that I Mrs. Flora Caplan was taken I from the state ; that F. A.
