Show CATHEDRAL NOTES. - Hiph mass will be discontinued for the summer the last of this, month. Friday being the first Friday of the month, the members of the Sacred ' Heart league went to holy communion. i The members of the Children of Mary Sodality will go to holy communion in a body next Sunday at the S o'clock mass. The usual bi-monthly meeting will be held in the afternoon at St. Mary's academy at 2:30. The commencement exercises of St. Mary's academy will be held on Thursday. Thurs-day. June !'. The lovely wreaths of carnations I ' which were used for the coronation ceremony were the gift of Mrs. A. JI. .; S. Llird. The promoters of the Sacred Heart league held their usual meeting last Sunday. Miss Mary Mahan and Mr. Fred Burrows will for the future lie promoters of the league. Miss Owen, Mrs. G. E. Curtis and Mr. Al Whiteman sang an "Ave Maria" at St. Mary's last Sunday, that was a musical trkat. Owing to urgent re-i re-i quests of several of the congregation they will repeat the "Ave Maria" on ,. Sunday. The annual entertainment by the children's choir will be given on Friday, June 13. An interesting pro gramme will be given. The children will l..o assisted by little Millie Williams. Wil-liams. The proceeds are for the benefit ben-efit of the Sunday school. It is hoped that the little people will have a crowded house, not only for financial reasons as much as to encourage the children in their work. The tickets will be only 23 cents. A new feature of the entertainment this year will be a short comedy entitled "Young Dr. Devine," by the young ladies of the choir. The little folks from St. Ann's or-' or-' phanage took part in the Decoration , day exercises last Friday. They went ! in a body to the Mount Calvary cem etery and.decorated the graves of their generous benefactors, the late Patrick Phelan, Con O'Keefe and John Hen-i Hen-i dricks. i The altars last Sunday were very beautiful. Mrs. Bixby transformed the Blessed Virgin's altar into a bower of ferns and llowers. Mrs. Butler and Mrs. X. P. Dooley assisted with the .! other altars. i ! Miss Etha Collins was the soloist at j the evening devotions all last week. j After the services at the cemetery j last Friday. Right Rev. Bishop Scanlan ! entertained 100 children from St. Ann's j at dinner. The young ladies of the junior choir assisted in entertaining the I children. J ' Mis. Joseph Dederich. 'Mrs. Tavey, h Mrs. Bixby, Miss 'Kennedy and' Mrs. j Butler donated the flowers used on the Bleised Virgin's altar last Sunday. i Mrs. D. II. Herd" and Mrs. X. P. Doo- ' ley are the ladies who will attend to the altars fis week. . I The annual entertainment for 'the benefit of the Sunday school will take place at the Grand theatre on next f ' Friday, June 13. The admission will be cents. Tickets are now on sale. Two handsome prizes will be given to the children who sell the largest number num-ber of tickets. The children must rehearse every afternoon from Saturday until next i . Friday for the entertainment. j Mrs. J. B.
