Show ORPHANS AT CALDER'S PARK, j Mrs. M. H. Kervin Entertains 150 j Children of the Kearns' St. Ann's Orphanage last Tuesday. Last Tuesday was a. happy day for the children of the Kearns' St. Ann's orphanage. Early in the morning they were taken, to Calder's Park, where they were the happy young guests of Mrs. M. H. Kervin for the entire day. Tuesday was the birthday of charming May Kervin, and her devoted mother thought it would be well to entertain the little folks from St. Ann's in honor of the' day. In no better' way could the day be celebrated than by contributing contribu-ting to the perfect happiness of the delighted little guests. If every child did not have a thoroughly good time it was not the fault of their kindly, hostess. hos-tess. The boats, the merry-go-rounds, the swings were all at -the disposal of the children. Mrs. Kervin was assisted as-sisted in entertaining -by Miss Halley, Mrs. Edward McGurrin, Mrs. Frank McGurrin, Miss O'Meara. Miss May Kervin, while dainty Hope Kervin gave each little guest the most devoted attention. At noon Mrs. Kervin entertained at an elaborate luncheon. Her guests were Rt. Rev. Bishop Scanlan. Rev. D. Kiely, the clergy of the 'cathedral and the Sisters from St.' Ann's.. |
