Show SOCIAL AND PERSONAL. Mr. and Mrs. James Ivers announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary, to Mr. James T. Finlen of Butte, Mont. The wedding, which will be a very 'quiet one,' will take place' on the ISth of June. The regular meeting of the Utopia club took place Wednesday of last week at the home of Mrs. Hamilton, 226 Tenth East street. The house was adorned with the national colors, beautiful beau-tiful flags being used .most effectively. The prizes were carried off by Mrs. E. A. Wall. Mrs. Callahan and Mrs Westcott. The dub will hold no more" meetings till September. Mrs. Thomas Buzzo of Butte, who has been attending .the biennial at Los Angeles, is staying at the Miller for a short time before returning .to her home.' Mrs. James H. Kirk left last week for a visit of two months in Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Hawver leave on Saturday for soda Springs, Idaho, where they will' spend the summer. sum-mer. Mrs. Walter G. Filer will leave shortly short-ly for -Manila, where she will join Mr. Filer. Miss Egan of Boston will arrive in the city shortly and will be the guest of Miss Rosalie Cope. Mrs. Charles McMahon and Mrs. Hugh Park have returned from the coast. Mrs. W. V. Ru-p has gone to Park City, where she will spend the summer and be glad to see her friends. - Mrs. Joseph Young has returned from a visit to Wyoming. . Mrs. Ccinway, who has been visiting her mother. Mrs. Perry S. Heath, lett last week for her home in Kentucky. . Miss Xellie Dooly is in Portland, Ore., and will return to Salt Lake in a few weeks. Clarence Cohn will return home the second week in June from Torre Haute, Ind. He will be accompanied by his cousins. Miss Sylvia Cohn and Miss Edna Cohn. ur. l. h. Baldwin, accompanied by Mrs. Baldwin and their son. left over the Rio Grande last week for St. Louis on a visit. Mrs. T. B. Beatty, who has been spending the past few months in the east, is expected home shortly. Mrs. J. C. Laux and Mrs. F. L. Libby arranged a delightful lake party Tuesday Tues-day evening, and about fifteen guests were present. Emanuel Kahn has returned from a six months' sojourn in the east and south. His health has very much improved. im-proved. Mr. Kahn accompanied him. Mrs.. Joseph Young of East First South has returned home from Wyoming. Wyom-ing. Miss Bertha Bootes, Edythe Hale and Sara Rcid Park have . returned from Stanford. Miss Pope of Denver spent Monday in Salt Lake en route to California, and was the guest of the Misses Sherman. Knight and children will arrive in Salt Lake this week from California, where they have teen the past four months. Dr. and Mrs. Wofrhington. Bamberger entertained at a theatre party Thursday evening of last week. Mr. O. J. Salisbury returned Wednesday Wednes-day from a trip to South Dakota. Miss Grace Emery, who has been in Washington at school for the last three years, returned during the week and will spend the summer in Salt Lake, and in the autumn will go abroad for two years. Mrs. Henry Harrison and daughter ! leave for Ocean Beach, X. J., next week, to be joined later in the season by Mrs. A. A. Gibson. From the resorts both will adjourn to Xew York City, where the winter will be spent. Dr. and Mrs.. Pinkerton gave an elegantly ele-gantly appointed dinner at the Alta club, followed by a theatre party for "The First Violin," on Saturday evening, even-ing, for Chief Surgeon Gardner of' the Southern Pacific. Mrs. Gardner and Mrs. Wright of San Francisco. Besides Be-sides the guests of honor there were present Dr. and Mrs. Bascom, Dr. and Mrs. Worthington, Madam Ploutz, Mrs. G. B. Pfoutz and Dr. Landenberger.. David Keith left last' Week on the overland limited train for Xew York to meet his youngest daughter after the close of school. In company with Senator Sen-ator Kearns. Mr. Keith and Miss Keith will sail for Europe about the middle of June. The party, including Senator Kearns' family, will spend the summer abroad, returning to Salt Lake early in September. Architect Hale received word last Monday from Denver of the death of Thomas Green, Mr. Hale's former partner part-ner in Denver and for a few years after they came to Salt Lake. The cause of Mr. Green's death was erysipelas and heart failure. He is well remebered by many Salt Lakers, who will grieve to hear of his death $ . .
