Processional Vivianl Last Friday being the Feast of the Sacred Heart, a large congregation attended at-tended mass. Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament was given in the evening. . Rehearsal for the children of the Junior choir is held every Saturday at 3 o'clock. The boys are expected to attend this rehearsal also. The young girl3 practice on Sunday morning at 9:30. At the closing exercises of St. Ann's Orphanage on Monday evening the programme win commence at i o'clock. Mrs. J.- Dunn and Mrs. P. L. Glea-son Glea-son are the ladies appointed to attend to the altars this week. During the summer months low mass will be celebrated at 11 o'clock on Sunday. Sunday school has been discontinued discon-tinued for the summer. Monday, June 29, will be the sixteenth six-teenth anniversary of the consecration consecra-tion of Rt. Rev. Bishop Scanlan. The members of the 11 o'clock choir have prepared an elaborate programme for last mass on Sunday, In honor of the event. The Junior choir will render a special programme at 9 o'clock mass. While here- Dr. J. Lewis Browne, the great organist, presented several of his own church compositions to the organist of the 'cathedral. One of these, an "O Salutaris," will be sung at high mass on Sunday, Mr. R. C. Dunbar being the soloist. The promoters of the Sacred Heart League will hold the usual monthly meeting on Sunday at 3 o'clock. Friday (July 3) being the first Friday Fri-day of the month, the members of the ( Sacred Heart League will receive holy communion. The children of the Kearns St. Ann's Orphanage will have their closing clos-ing exercises on Monday evening, June 29. The programme will be given in honor of Rt. Rev. Bishop Scanlan, Monday being the sixteenth anniversary of his consecration. The programme, which is of unusual excellence, excel-lence, wll commence promptly at 7 o'clock. The public are cordially invited to attend, and of course all the Catholics of the city will be seen there, for St. Ann's is to the church in Utah a source of pride and gratification. |
