Show ANACONDA, MONT. William F. Barnett, formerly in the clothing business in this city, but now a traveling man for a house in Chicago, Chi-cago, was in Anaconda Tuesday. H. C. Hoffman and N.' H. Gramling, mining men of Salt Lake, are in the ciy" O '. Tony Joyia, an Italian laborer at the smelters, was severely injured at the works Monday and is now at St. Ann's hospital. Harry O'Neill, who is well known in this city as an electrician, has resigned his position with the Anaconda Copper company and wifl accept the management manage-ment of the electric light plant at Fort Benton. He will leave here on the first of the month for his new location. Mr. O'Neill has been a resident of this city for a number of years and for the past six years has been in the employ of the Copper company Mrs. Louise Coulson, his mother, will, remain here until spring. s Several of the citizens of Anaconda made a pilgrimage to Helena during the week for the purpose of urging forward for-ward some of the legislation introduced, intro-duced, or. about to be introduced, for the benefit of municipalities. Chairman Kelleher of the board of county commissioners com-missioners has already gone over and told the legislators all about the coun-tv coun-tv division scheme, in which it is proposed pro-posed to take a slice off Silver Bow county. City Attorney Sawyer will re turn and attend to the committee worK and the work of drawing the bills, to which he was assigned at the meeting of the mayors in the early part of last week. $ The Montana hotel in this city will be closed at the end of the present month. The house will be closed at least sixty days in order to undergo extensive repairs. When it is reopened the Montana ..will be 'one of the best hostelries in the northwest. The. remodeling re-modeling will be under the supervision of Architect M. D. Kern of Butte. There will be new furnishings and all conveniences that a modern hotel requires, re-quires, and an up-to-date cafe will be conducted. For the time being guests of the hotel will have to be quartered j j elsewhere, ! |
