The Class of 1905 was tendered a reception re-ception at Columbia gardens la?t week by St. Ptrick's Alumni association, and the evening was spent in dancing and a generally social manner. The first president of the association was William Wil-liam McMahon. who successfully directed di-rected the affairs? of the organization for two years. Miss D. Gibbons sue- , ceeded Mr. McMahon as president, and was in turn succeeded by Edgar Andrieux. Mr. Cautield. the present president, has for his associates Miss E. Dalton. as vice president; Miss Mary McMahon. secretary, and John Dubie, treasurer. f- ' One of the most largely attended funerals fu-nerals ever held in Butte was that of Mrs. Catherine Egan, late wife of Coroner Cor-oner Michael- Egan, which took place from Sacred Heart church. From early ! morning .until the time, when the casket cas-ket was removed to the Esan home. .427 East Galena street, hundreds of ' friends of the deceased galled and left Mnany floral offerings as' tokens of the love and high esteem in which Mrs. Egan was held in Butte. " The' Catholic Sisters of Butte entered into their arrnual retreat Saturday night. There are several Sisters from Anaconda and Deer Lodge taking part in' the'exercises. and all those who live in Butte, with the exception of a few at St. James' hospital, who cannot be spared from their duty, are at the -school. The retreat will probably last until Sunday, and will be followed by another" in Deer Lodge, starting July 13, for -those who cannot take part in the one now being held in this city. A third will be held in Helena about Aug. 1' for the Sisters who live 'in that part of the state. |
