Show News and Personal. The Y. M. I. football team have secured se-cured the services of Mr. Teal of Professor Pro-fessor Mead's office as coach, and will probably get down to active work the coming week. The first game will be played in about three weeks, against a very strong local aggregation, and the proceeds will be turned over to the City Aid society. The boys expect a hard tussle, but promise to give a good account of themselves. Mrs. Eder, mother of the young lady of that name married at St. Mary's Wednesday last, is seriously ill at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Manewall. The lady is far advanced in years, and grave fears are entertained for her recovery. The marriage of Miss Lulu Griffiths and Mr. Ralph Holloway is announced for the near future. Many of the members of what is known in the service as "Bridgman's Bull Battery," now stationed at Fort Russell, are seen at Mass. The boys saw considerable service in the Philippines. Philip-pines. $ Mr. J. J. Mahoney, employed as switchman in the Union Pacific yards, has returned from Omaha, accompar nied by a bride. They are at home at 420 West Twentieth. Mr. John Dugan and bride have returned re-turned -from an extended honeymoon trip and are comfortably located at Twentieth and Evans streets. JVIr. Pat Post and bride are at home on East Sixteenth. Miss Smith', a charming and very edifying ed-ifying Catholic young lady, recently of Denver, has accepted a position as' stenographer sten-ographer in the office of Van Ossdale & Burdick and will make her home with us for the present. Miss Nellie Nolan has accepted a school in the vicinity of Wheatland and lef this week to assume charge thereof. Father Keating of Casper will have charge of the Wheatland mission, owing ow-ing to Father Golden's transfer to Denver. Den-ver. Miss Rose Martin and MIS3 Alice Lowe were the soloists at St. Marys' Sunday. Miss Lowe rendered an "Ave Maria" at High Mass and Miss Martin an "O, Salutaris" at the evening services, serv-ices, both of which delighted their auditors. aud-itors. Donald Michie of Casper is in the city. -- John Harrington has returned from a trip to Chicago. Father Bryant accompanied his aunt. Miss Kearns, as far as Chicago, and will .probably not return for a week or more. He took in the festival at Denver en route. -- Father Keating of Casper passed through the city last week, en route to Denver. Mr. N. L. McQuanie has accepted a position with-the Cowhick's Dry Goods company. C. Schhiffdaner of Cripple Creek Is visiting Mr. N. L. McQuanie. W. E. McKinnie is in town from Manvllle. Harry O'Hair was a city visitor from Hartvilie the past week. L. E. Austins and wife and Miss Grace Robson are city visitors from Chugwater. Miss Anna Nolan will leave this week to resume charge of her school near Iron Mountain. Mrs. Stephen. Bon, Mrs. Frank Ban and Miss Gertie Grady visited the Denver Den-ver celebration last week.' Mrs. A .Heaton of Douglas was a visitor last wreek. Mrs. W. H. Hammond, who has been visiting her mother, Mrs. Dugan, has returned to Omaha. Mrs. Plant, who has been visiting relatives, has returned to her home in Omaha. $ Miss Anna James has returned from an extended eastern trip. |
