A romance of school days was happily hap-pily ended on Wednesday, Jan. 11, when John Cronin and Haiina Leehan were quietly married at Sacred Heart church, Father Callahan officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Cronin left in the evening over the Short Line for Salt Lake and Denver. Den-ver. After a few weeks' sojourn in the Colorado capital they w ill reside at 336 East Granite street. f - Thomas Kilgallon, jr., and Thomas Bryant jr., gave a farewell party on last Thursday evening at he home of Tom Kilgallon, entertaining a number or their friends, whom they invited to meet them before leaving for eastern Pennsylvania, where both will take up work preparatory to becoming machinists. machin-ists. Mc-Cormiek Mc-Cormiek were married Wednesday evening, eve-ning, Jan. 11, at the home cf the bride's sister. Mrs. Joseph Murphy. Only a few friends were present. The ceremony cere-mony was performed by Rev. Father Van der Donckt. A beautiful wedding dinner was served. The young couple took the noon train today for Portland for a short honeymoon trip. A very pleasant wedding took place Wednesday evening. Jan. 11. when Miss May McCormick and Augustus Sears were united in wedlock in the presence of a few friends and relatives. The ceremony cer-emony was performed by Rev. Father Van der Donckt. The bride was attended at-tended by Miss Nellie Condon as bridesmaid, brides-maid, and tiie best man was Mr. Edward Ed-ward Murphy. I ANACONDA, WONT. V. F. Walsh died Friday ni. rmng Jan. j 13, at the family residence, M. Chest- nut street, after a short illness, at the ' age of 60 years. The deacesed moved to Montana from . Dubuque, la., twenty year ago. and since that time has resided in Butte and Anaconda. Mr. Walsh was born at ! West Meath. la., and was a civil engineer engi-neer by profession. j He leaves one son, C. J. Walsh of , Butte, and three daughters. The daugh- 1 ters are Mrs. E. J. Carroll and Mrs. Alec Morrison of Butte and Mrs. Luke t Tiainor of Anaconda. The funeral services took place Saturday Sat-urday morning at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. LUke Tiainor, 517 Chestnut Chest-nut street. Mass was celebrated at St. Peter's church. Interment wacs in Mt. Carmel cemetery. Miss Louise and Hertha. Ehret entertained enter-tained a few friends in a pleasant manner man-ner last Friday night. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Allen, Mr. and Mrs. J. Gilbert, and J. Kelly. Gaines of many kinds were played, and the hostesses host-esses favored their guests with several musical selections. Mr. Gilbert performed per-formed some clever and interesting sleight of hand tricks. George Savage, the mining man who irj interested in the lied Lion district. was a visitor in Anaconda during last week. Mr. Savage recently arrived I here from the east. 4 1 Tenderly, and with all proper respect j the body of the late John McGinty was laid to rest Jan. 10 in Mount Carinel cemetery. Services were held at St. Peter's church. Mr. McGinty was a well known resi- ' dent of this city. He had been employed . at the Fulton market. Recently 'he was taken ill with pneumonia and could not ! survive the attack. Mr. McGinty's family is well known here and have the sympathy of many Anaconda residents. resi-dents. The pallbearers were: F. V. Hurley, M. F. McHale, B. MeTeague, G. Hutch-ins, Hutch-ins, P. Horan and F. B. Gorr. The Modern Woodmen of America, the Butchers' union, the League of the Sacred Heart, the Women of Woodcraft and the members of St. Peter's Altar society took part in the funeral cortege. The sisters of St. Joseph's orphans' home desire to return their most heartfelt heart-felt gratitude to the many kind friends who by their generous contributions of money, groceries and toys made the Christmas of 1904 one to be ever remembered re-membered by the children. On Tuesday night the officers of the Rocky Mountain branch. No. 298, of the Catholic Knights of America, were' installed. in-stalled. The reports of the treasurer and secretary showed that the raising of the rates had not caused a member to drop out. ( The adjustment of the rates has been accomplished without affecting the reserve re-serve fund of the crder, which amounts to about $SOO,000. An effort will be made during the present year to increase the. fund to $1,000,000. The local members of the order were unanimous n their endorsement of the Very Reverend Father Victor Day as their spiritual director for the year,, and will send a delegation to the new bishop as soon as he is installed to have the nomination approved. Collins of the Collins Land company com-pany is in the city from Portland. . f One of the prettiest weddings that has taken place in the Cathedral of the Sacred Hearts in some time occurred on Wednesday morning, Jan. 11 at 8 o'clock, the contracting parties being William Lawrence Gleason and Miss Badelia Catherine Lawior, the nuptial mass being read by Rev. Father Sullivan. Sulli-van. The bride wore a becoming traveling gown of gray cloth over gray silk, with hat to match and was attended by Miss Kathleen Naughton of Butte, whoee gown "was of brown voile over brown silk. Frank Gleason, brother of the groom, acted as best man. Mrs. F. C. Ashall presided at the organ and played during the impressive ceremony, immediately imme-diately after the ceremony the bridal party and a number of invited guests were entertained at an elaborate breakfast break-fast at the Hotel Helena. , Those invited were Mr. and Mns. J. D. O'Brien, Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Ashall, Mr. and Mrs. Knute Ophelm, Miss Mae Curtis, Miss O'Boyle, Miss, Lynch of Virginia City, Miss Naughten of Butte; Miss Lawior, C. D.
