Show , Historic Seminary Sold. . Mt. St. Mary's seminary, Price Hill, Cincinnati, has been sold to the Sisters of the Good Shepherd for the sum of $125,000. It is the intention of the archbishop to transfer the "theological institution to Cedar Point, and accordingly this spring a new building will be erected adjoining- St. Gregory's preparatory seminary. The diocesan authorities consider it more economical to consolidate the theological and preparatory seminaries. Mt. St. Mary's was founded in 1S4S and has flourished, with short intermissions, ever since. Among the prominent bishops living l'ho received their education at the seminary are Rt. Revs. John L. Spalding of Peoria. Nicholas' Matz of Denver. Edward Fitzgerald of Little Rock, Joseph Richter of Grand Rapids and John J. Hartley, the newly conseerated bishop of Columbus. A number of priests of the Cleveland diocese received their theological the-ological training at Mt. St. Mary's. |
