Show Beware of the Streets. Bislmp Stang of Fall River has a knack of uttering ut-tering timely and striking truths relating to th preservation of the home, as when, for instance, he writes: "Catholic parents who love their children will certainly not allow them to run about the streets aimlessly after nightfall. How can a Catholic father or mother close their eyes in sleep unless they know that their children have saitl their prayers pray-ers and have retired for the night. Our public thoroughfares are frequently polluted by unbecoming unbecom-ing and lurid representations and pictorial advertisements, adver-tisements, and a few of our magistrates seem to have the courage or sense of propriety to preveut this outrage on public decency. Again our cities and towns are flooded with sensational literature and filthy papers which debauch ihe mind and make serious reading an impossibility." Less tribute for the police courts now aud hereafter here-after if children are kept under parental iuftueiice at home rather than allowed lo wander the streets in questionable companionship. |
