Show DENVER NEWS. Fully a thousand visitors invaded the College of the Paired Heart last Sunday Sun-day afternoon. The occasion wa the annual elocutionary contest for the Nichols' gold medals, one for the junior Haw and the other for the seniors. Francis Sullivan won the medal for the younger boys, while Harry G. Wim-hush Wim-hush was first among the seniors. The proceeding? were enlivened by music by the a:honl orchestra under the leadership lead-ership of I,rofesnr Frederick Runkel. The orchestra played several difficult selections with desh and an excellent ensemble. The Sacred Heart College Dramatic club will give the play, entitled "Herni-sild, "Herni-sild, or the Two Crowns" at the Broadway Broad-way theatre on the evening of June 20. Sister Xolasco. superioress of the Logan Lo-gan avenue school, is quite ill. Sister Dorothea is on the fair road to recovery. ' The many Denver friends of Rev. Fr. Howlett were delighted to see him here last week. It is rumored that Rev. Henry Gran-von. Gran-von. who has recently been, appointed Bishoup of Tucson, is to pay Denver a visit in the near future. Owing to the illness of the Archbishop of Santa Fe, Rt. Rev. N. C. Matz. Bishop of Denver, Den-ver, may be called upon to consecrate Rev. Fr. Granyon. Miss- M'Hary Lerva, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Laurence O'Bryan and Mr. Thomas Castello, one-of Denver's promising prom-ising young business men, were married at St. Josephs Church by Rev. Ft. Gierman last Monday. The wedding waa ! strictly private owing to the recent j death of the bride's aunt. Miss Kathryn sister of the bride, acted as bridesmaid and Dr. F. J. Verzini was best man. After a brief sojourn in Colorado Springs the happy couple will return to Denver and be at home to their friends at 1112 Eleventh street.
