Show St. Peters. Anaconda is to be, congratulated on the establishment of a convent school . in.its limits. The Ursuline nuns, whose mother house is Mt. Angela, near Casr cade, Mont.,' came to Anaconda last September and opened a school in St. Peter's parish. Neither quarters nor location were all that could be desired. Jet Mother Angela and her six co-laborers with characteristic heroism took up the burden. At present there are 300 children attending the school, and it is safe to say that the attendance would number as many more if space could be at once provided to accommodate them. The musical department has fifty pupils and that of art and elocution thirty. The pupils will make their first public appearance on Dec. 28. That the effects of refined training will be evident is a foregone conclusion. It is the intention of Father Coopman to erect a suitable school building in the near future. In such a worthy cause all possible assistance is richly deserved. The Intermountain Catholic extends the season's greetings arid best wishes for future prosperity to the Ursuline nuns. |
