Show COR CORDrrjJI. (By Eleanor C. Donnelly.) Earth holds no heart so strong, so wise, so great, It craveth not, at times, the restful love Of some true, sympathetic soul. The dove Seeks not more surely for Its nest and mate, Than heart of man' yearneth, disconsolate, disconso-late, For one devoted friend, in whom its trust Shall never be betrayed. How desperate Too oft, its quest! The hopes of flesh are dust. One Heart alone is true: One, evermore Unchanging in Its love and sympathy! Others may faithless prove give gall for wine; ,The Heart of Jesus hath a golden store Of sweetest strength, sublime fidelity His love is true, because it is. Divine! .i i |
