At a very largely attended meeting of Colorado Springs ' Council fS2, T-CnicVito nf CnlnmhiiR on TliesdflV evening, March 10, Mr. Carl Zittel read a well written paper on the Holy Father's famous encyclical on modernism, modern-ism, which was highly appreciated by the council and brought much comment com-ment from Fathers Clark, Raber and Hagus. Brother Clifford Lane of Big-low, Big-low, Mo., was a visitor. Brother George F. Dorman of Worcester, Wor-cester, Mass., made the council a pleasant call. The feast of St. Patrick on Tuesday, and the feast of St. Joseph on Thurs day will be celebrated at St. Mary's church with solemn high mass. The Instructions preparatory for the first Holy Communion of the children of our parochial school began on last Monday. The choir, under the direction of Professor Carl Zittel, is preparing for the Easter music. The ladies of the parrsh are to give a tea party in the rectory on Tuesday, St. Patrick's day. Proceeds 'for the poor. Mr. George F. Dorman of Worcester. Mass., is visiting here. Rev. Barth O'Driscoll of Brooklyn. X. Y.. was a visitor here on Monday and Tuesday. Father O'Driscoll is en route to the Pacific coast. Mr. and Mrs. B. L. Pierce of Dn- ver attended services at St. Mary's church on last Sunday. Rev. Edmund Ley, pastor of the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Fely at Manitou. who went south sewial weeks ago. is now in Cuba. The infant daughter of Mr. and Mr?. John M. Harnan. 1809 Xorth .lon street, was baptized on. Sunday, Marcii 15, by Father Raber in St. Maiy's church, and received the name of Elizabeth. Eli-zabeth. Sponsors were Miss Elizabeth Doran and Mr. .D. T. Whalon of Peoria. Peo-ria. 111. Mr. and Mrs. Harnan received re-ceived the congratulations of a ho.it of friends, who wish them mucn joy and hope that Elizabeth will be the cause of much sunshine and pleasure to her parents' fireside. Rev. Father Raber baptized on last Sunday, March 15, the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Huneke, 1224 Glen avenue, receiving the.name of Mary Teresa. Mr. and Mrs. J. Fnid Roth were the sponsors. Their friends wish that Mary Teresa will be the cause of much happiness to her parents, par-ents, brothers an sisters. Mrs. Mary Ryan and two daughters.
