Show EUREKA. ' i Word was received here Tuesday evening that John B. Cronin, one of Eureka's well known pioneers, died at the Holy Cross hospital. Salt Lake, between be-tween 8 and 9 o'clock, of gangrene. Some time ago Mr. Cronin received a slight injury to his foot, which was considered trivial at the time, but it became gradually worse, and he was sent to the hospital. Deceased was 65 years of age. He was born in Ireland and came to America at the age of 9 years. He settled with his parents in Washington. D. C, where he grew to manhood, and in the year 1863 went to California, and from there to Nevada in 1865. In 1887 he came to Eureka, and had resided here ever since, being engaged en-gaged in the boot and shoe .business. He leaves a wife and three sons and three daughters Daniel B. Cronin, M. F. Cronin, John Cronin, Mrs. Patrick Shea. Clara and Katie Cronin. His remains re-mains will be prepared at O'Donnell's undertaking parlors and shipped to Eureka Eu-reka for the funeral. Arrangements for the funeral have not yet been completed. |
