Show DRAMATIC ENTERTAINMENT. Successful Performance by Students of All Hallows. A large attendance greeted the musical mu-sical and dramatic entertainment presented pre-sented Wednesday by the students of All Hallows college for the benefit of the athletic association. The feature of the program w-as a four-act comedy, "Successful Tactics," and the young actors performed in excellent style. Julius Hilgard in the role of an eccentric eccen-tric English nobleman, had by far the most difficult part, but he was equal to the occasion and proved himself to be a clever actor for a boy of his years. Joseph McKay and Arthur McChrystal as rival suitors . .were consistent throughout the play. Emmett Shields as a Swiss innkeeper did a clever piece of character work, his dialect being very natural. Thomas Hutchison and Harold McCabe did very creditably. Neil Boyle dressed as a female traveler travel-er was cleverly made up. The other members of the cast gave good support. , The musical portion of the program was under the leadership of Anton Pederson and was of a high class. The orchestra was enlarged for the "occasion. "occa-sion. The soloists were well received and the audience insisted on encores from eacli of them. The most popular numbers were the trombone solo by Perry Neilson, the clarinet solo by Edward Ed-ward Love, and the songs by the faculty fac-ulty quartette. The latter made a great hit. At the close of regular numbers on the program the Very Rev. Dean Harris Har-ris delivered a short address, in which he congratulated the boys on their work. |
