Show Answer From Far Away. Here is a lovely-little bird story told by a Catholic Cath-olic poet, the late Francis Thompson.. Mr. Thomp son was very fond of birds, and very observant of their ways. One day in the early autumn, catching i a swallow that, nested in his garden, he fastened te I its wing a piece of oiled paper inscribed with the ! words : "Swallow, little swallow, 1 wonder where you pass the winter' The next spring the swallow returned to its nest at the usual time. Attached to its foot wa-another wa-another piece of oiled paper with the inscription- "Floience. at the house of Castellan". Corditd greetings to the friend in the north." The swallow had borne a return message all the way from Italy to England, and the poet's question ques-tion was answered. |
