The deceased clergyman was for some years curate at Ovens and Bantry before his appointment to the pastoral charge of Kilmichael parish. par-ish. In recent years the district over which Father Murphy officiated was the center of a considerable number of land disputes, and the tenant invariably invar-iably found an able and prudent exponent ex-ponent of his cause In his respected pastor. By his death the churcr loses a devoted servant, the clergy of Cork diocese an esteemed confrere, and hia parishioners a beloved and respected pastor. Kilkenny. The death of the Earl of Carrick at Bath was recently reported. The deceased de-ceased earl was formerly a major in the Second battalion, Welsh regiment, and was present during the repulse of an incursians of Fenians into Canada in 1S70. He was translated to the important pastoral pas-toral charge of Raphoe some years ago, and here, he won the appreciation and respect of all.
